Need Information

My dad was diagnosed with glaucoma a few years back and has been taking prescription eye drops since then. He was informed yesterday that the eye drops aren't successfully regulating the pressure within one of his eyes. In one month he is meeting with a specialist to discuss his surgical options. I am curious as to whether cannabis would benefit his condition, as his doctor alluded to it's use long ago but dismissed the option because of "tedious paperwork". He is reluctant to use cannabis as medicine at this point. If anyone could steer me towards medical resources or has any ideas, please comment.

Marijuana Money & The Environment

Its funny that while the United States appear to be harder on marijuana at first glance, they are actually progressing faster that one might think. Many states have introduced decriminalization bills and are moving towards more marijuana friendly laws. Shouldn't Canada be having the same discussions and moving in the same direction? Weren't our legislators having these same talks only a few years ago? Now that the United States is finally moving towards ending prohibition Canada should be looking to do the same thing. Imagine the revenues of marijuana sales and taxes on those sales in Canada and the trading potential between nations. With marijuana legalized then the hemp farmers would also be unrestricted to grow hemp, arguably one of the most useful plants on the face of the earth. Environmentalists rejoice! Industrial hemp production means less forests will be clear cut and less habitats destroyed.

Following this link leads to a short summary of the Marijuana decriminalization in Washinton
making special mention of tax revenues for the state. the comment section is chock full of
ridiculously false statements made by the original prohibitionists of the 1930's inc. Harry J. Anslinger.

Date Worthy Of A Protest

We've all seen the new Stan Douglas piece-Abbott & Cordova, on the new woodwards building in all it's glory. The exhibit of police brutality is taken from the 1971 gastown riots, which occured on August 7th. The following article describes how police don't care for people remembering such a brutal police exercise in enforcing marijuana laws. Jim Chu, VPD Chief attempted to discourage the mural by claiming the event is a sad part of police history. It's not history though, peaceful people are still under persecution for something the majority of canadians feel is not a crime. If on August 7th, the 4:20 and Cannabis Day crowd made it to the woodwards building, I feel the media would have a hard time not highlighting some injustice. It's also the middle of summer, so that's groovy as well.

Here's the article:

Teaching Children The Truth

Parents today should be teaching their children that tobacco and alcohol are
much worse than marijuana.  By supporting Bills like C-15, you are
saying that marijuana is worse than tobacco and alcohol.  We should be seeing money
going to Bills being passed to imbolish all alcohol commercials and put huge labels on
those bottles.
The FACT of the matter is, tobacco and alcohol kill over 50,000 people a year in Canada
and maijuana has not killed anyone, nor does it cause cancer.
These children on earth are our future and need to be told the truth.
We won't be sitting back this Christmas quietly.  Please help spread the truth by getting
involved and telling Stephen Harper that you know the truth!
