Cannabis legalization

Not sure if it should be LEGAL. There are still many studies to be done on chemical/brain consequences from short or long term use....and yes i USE cannabis. What should be implemented, imo, is a licencing system whereby a given Canadian could purchase an annual licence for say $150, in order to cultivate up to 3 Marijuana plants for PERSONAL use in THEIR own home.

This would legally allow canadians to choose whether they enjoy any benefits from cannabis while protect innocents that DO enjoy it's use.

This is the best system i can think of to protect and serve the interests of ALL parties involved.

I agree - not sure it should

I agree - not sure it should be legal. Then the big tabacco companies, pharm, softdrink companies will get involved. Goverment will rule every stage... I am more comfortable with decriminalization. No one should lose thier freedom or suffer a criminal record.

I prefer decriminalization

I don't want the government to licence it, tax it, sell it or approve of it. Why should I have to pay for a licence? Less government, not more.

I can brew beer at home and I can grow tomatoes on my back porch; why not also grow marijuana? Its just a plant, after all.

All I am asking for is the right to grow pot for personal use. Period. Change the laws so that possession and cultivation for personal use will no longer be considered a crime. It's so simple really.

Self grow fine

If your growing it for personal needs, I can't see where the government would get involved. Legalization generally allows personal cultivation of up to a certain number of plants.

But, not everyone wants or can grow it themselves, and then the question is how do they acquire it.

Any transaction made in Canada is taxed, except for some exemptions for sellers who make less than a certain amount a year. You may not like that, but if you use roads, went to school, or ever visited a doctor then that is reality.

The question then is if we are to sell it, do we sell it everywhere or in selective establishments. Should a candy store be allowed to have a box of joints for 10 years old to buy? You may think this is fine, but it is probably not palatable for the general public.

When will the PM answer those

When will the PM answer those questions?

Thanks.
